

Stephen was born in Salem, Ohio to the late Bettie L. and Stephen B. Stephen retired from the Lakehurst Naval Base after working over 50 years as an electrical engineer. He was an avid bowler where he belonged to the Lakehurst Base Bowling Team. He also had a passion for riding the motorcycles where he rode to the age of 70! Stephen met Arlene 34 years ago and got married in 2003.
Stephen was predeceased by his sister Beverly Kramer and nephew Michael Spangenberg, US Veteran. He is also predeceased by his step-son Joseph Harbina and his sister-in-law Gail and her husband Charles Regenye.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Arlene and step-son Ken Harbina of Tinton Falls. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Steven Kramer of Tennessee, nieces, Heather Maire and her husband Dan of Tennessee and Shel Silva of NJ, and Sharon and Scott LaMantia of Pennsylvania, sister-in-law Barbara Silva of NJ and nephews Cary Regenye of Texas and Chris Regenye and his wife Donna of NJ. Also surviving is his long time childhood best friend Rudy Rienderer of Pine Beach.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday May 9, 2026 from 1:00pm-4:00pm, with a religious service at 3:15pm, at Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, Toms River.
