Susan Elizabeth Perillo (née Falconer), 71, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Manahawkin, New Jersey. Born on July 16, 1954, in Denville, New Jersey, Sue lived a life rooted in devotion to family, hard work, and generosity.
Sue treasured her family above all else. She was the loving mother of Daniel Perillo and Warren Perillo Jr., and the cherished grandmother of Matthew Perillo. An original "boy mom," Sue's boys were the light of her life. She proudly encouraged Dan, Warren, and Matthew in all their endeavors. Sue's role as grandmother to Matthew brought her an abundance of joy. She enthusiastically rooted for Matthew at many baseball and football games, travelling from Cooperstown, NY to the Jersey shore, and everywhere in between. Ultimately, Sue followed Matthew’s high school sports virtually as she bravely battled joint pain.
Sue was raised in the Rockaway, New Jersey area, where she attended Morris Catholic High School and graduated from Morris Knolls High School. After graduation, Sue attended the Katharine Gibbs School for vocational training in administrative services. Sue was known and loved by many as a pensive, hard-working, and compassionate friend. She maintained several lifelong friendships, and always looked forward to get-togethers. Sue’s intensity was balanced by her appreciation of sarcastic humor and her sweet, infectious laugh.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker, Sue built a long and respected career at Novartis in East Hanover, New Jersey, where she worked for thirty-seven years as a senior administrative professional. Sue was a steadfast and dependable presence who supported countless colleagues during nearly four decades of loyal service.
Sue’s cooking was second to none. She measured with her soul, always adding her special ingredient—love. Sue made birthdays and holidays magical through treasured family recipes and thoughtful gift-giving. She was also a devoted “dog mom,” and in recent years, her grand-dog, Woodson, brought her endless smiles. Sue's happy place here on earth was in sunny Arizona. She was also known to enjoy sunsets, hot air balloons, and lilacs.
Sue is survived by many friends and extended family members from the Falconer and Perillo branches of her family tree. Sue had a strong bond with her loving niece, Jennifer Falconer, and nephew, Christopher Falconer, who will forever hold her in their hearts. Sue is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Perillo, and her daughter, Jordan Davidek, whom she welcomed into the family with open arms.
Sue was predeceased by her beloved parents, Arthur and Josephine Falconer; her former parents-in-law, Nicholas and Grace Perillo; as well as her brother and lifelong friend, Arthur Falconer, Jr. Sue was devastated by each of these losses, and her family finds comfort in the thought of a reunion.
A private celebration of life will be held in accordance with Sue’s wishes. Cremation was private.
In lieu of flowers, Sue's family requests prayers as they grieve her unexpected loss. All those who remember Sue are asked to honor her life by performing a random act of kindness. Sue was known for her generous heart, always ready to help others when it was needed most. Please think of Sue's generosity and "pay it forward" in her loving memory.
