Born in Newark, she lived there and in Garwood before moving to Manchester 42 years ago.
Mrs. Zavali was a 1969 graduate of Arthur L. Johnson Regional High School, Clark, where she was a member of the National Honor Society.
She was a tax preparer and office manager for H&R Block, Lakehurst for many years until retiring in 2003.
She enjoyed crafts, painting, and spending time at the beach.
Surviving are her husband, Jay; her son, Joseph of Whiting; her sister, Jane Worthington and her husband Bob; her sister-in law and Jolene Cozzolongo and her husband Dave, her brother-in-law, Richard Zavali and his wife Karen; her nieces and nephews, Paul, Scott, Stephanie, Dave, Diane, and Daniel; and her dog, Charlie.
Private arrangements have been entrusted to Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services, 1329 Route 37 West, Toms River.
