Terrence David Magee

Terrence David Magee, 70, of Toms River, passed away on June 29th surrounded by the love of his family. Born and raised in Matawan, Terry spent most of his life in Toms River. A 1962 graduate of Matawan High School, Terry left his mark on the basketball record books, leading the Huskies to a Shore Conference Championship. Terry served as a land surveyor for Fellows, Reed and Associates and Schoor DePalma Incorporated before founding Hewitt and Magee Associates Land Surveyors in 1993. Terry always put his family first. When he discussed his wife, daughters and grandchildren, he did so with love and pride. Terry is survived by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen (nee Chapman), his daughters Megan and Kimberly and her husband Shawn Ryan, and his three grandchildren, Patrick, Finn and Margaret. Also surviving are his three brothers, Thomas of Brenham, Texas, Timothy of Manasquan and Theodore of Matawan. Terry was predeceased by his parents Celia and Gordon Magee. Known for his broad handlebar moustache and warm personality, Terry touched the lives of many. Terry was a lifetime fan of the Indianapolis (nee Baltimore) Colts, an avid viewer of the History Channel, and a serious threat on the golf course. He shared his love of golf with his grandchildren, who he loved to take to the driving range. He was a loyal and trusted friend, quick to offer help and support. Terry will be remembered for the gleam in his eye, his warm spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday , July 3, 2014 at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
