Tom Johns of Toms River passed away on August 18, 2017 at Sloan Kettering Hospital, NY. Tom was born on December 29, 1945 in Hackensack, NJ and grew up in Washington Township, NJ.

Tom was an avid outdoorsman. He loved photography, bird watching, mountain biking, hunting and listening to music. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Tom is survived by his loving wife Judith, 2 daughters Dawn Marie (Gene) Fowler, Kelly (Chris) Smith; 2 adored grandchildren Brady & Mollie Smith; his sister Marsha (Joseph) Robertson; brother-in-law Bob (Mary) Giarusso; sister-in-law Joyce (Chuck) Stever; sister-in-law Alice Giarusso; and several nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Barbara (Kelley) Johns; brothers-in-law Jack Giarusso and Jim Giarusso.

Cremation was private. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 9:00 at Beachwood Community Center, 147 Compass Ave, Beachwood, NJ 08722. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thomas R. Johns Memorial Fund, 1358 Hooper Ave., PMB 328, Toms River, NJ 08753-2882 to be distributed to the charities of Tom's choice.
