

Veronica Mary Crelin, 94, of Toms River, NJ, passed away on June 17, 2021 at Community Medical Center in Toms River. Born in Newark, NJ, she lived in West Caldwell before moving to Ocean Gate in 1984 and Toms River 9 years ago. Veronica was born on February 15, 1927 to the late Stephen and Pauline Tekula. She attended St. Benedict’s Grammar School and graduated from Eastside High School in Newark. Veronica had a love for singing. She enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Benedict’s RC Church in Newark and St. Aloysius RC Church in West Caldwell. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross in Caldwell. Veronica had many talents including cooking, baking, gardening, arts and crafts, painting, sketching, sewing and playing the organ. Making Holidays special for her family meant the world to her. She loved taking long rides in the car and going out to eat. Veronica loved all animals and she always tried to leave a situation better than she found it. She always looked for the good in people. When she lived on Orton Road, she was known for the starched curtains in all the windows. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Veronica is predeceased by her husband of 57 years, William H. Crelin and her seven siblings. Surviving are her children Arleen Warwick and husband Stuart and Michael Crelin and wife Daniele; grandsons Eric Crelin and wife Lindsay and Brian Crelin and wife Lauren; great grandsons Jackson and Hayes, and Carson, due in August. Also surviving are her niece Laurie Kellert, along with a host of relatives and friends.

Cremation is private and under the direction of Anderson and Campbell Funeral Home in Toms River.
