Joyce would want to be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and dedicated teacher. A woman who defied the odds for the times she lived in. She went against statistics and achieved her college education, while attending Lebanon Valley, where she not only obtained her degree, but met her husband Frank Shupper. Together the two started their lives and family together where they had 3 children, Lynda, Craig, and Lori.
Joyce was not only a devoted mother and wife, but was a dedicated teacher who held a full time position teaching the gifted and talented students. Joyce’s achievements with her students shined through, when she was designated as the Coordinator of Languages at Hillside Elementary School in Montclair. After many years of serving as a respected educator, Joyce retired within the Montclair School System, but continued to give to her community throughout her years. She participated in book clubs and volunteered her time to the Hope Center Food Pantry in Toms River, NJ which provided care for those in need.
A woman who survived the loss of a son and a husband who she celebrated 65 years of marriage with. Joyce is remembered not only for her kindness to others but to the love she provided to her family. An amazing mother of 3 and a beloved grandmother. She was a woman known for her confidence, poise, and impeccable style. A woman who possessed class and carried herself as the confident woman she was. Joyce Shupper was an avid reader, master of writing, and a lover of dogs. She will be a woman missed by many and touched those of all she encountered.
Joyce is survived by her daughters Lori and Rich D’Aries, Lynda and Dave Seaman; granddaughters Kelly D’Aries, Kim and Clint McCue; grandsons Trent and Amiee, Drew and Julie, and Brad Seaman; and three great grandchildren Jonathon, Caitlin and Brianna Seaman. Predeceased by her son Craig Shupper and her Husband Frank Supper.
