Our prayers go out to everyone who ever knew "GUB". He was a friendly and kind man devoted to his family. He gave a piece of himself to everyone he met. He will be missed not only by family and friends but the town of Toms River has also suffered a great loss.

Mr. Polhemus was like a grandfather to my brother and I, our whole childhood, and I will never forget him. He was always there with a smile, hug and a kind word for us kids, even when we were driving the rest of the adults crazy. He was a generous, thoughtful and compassionate man. A true gentleman. He taught me that burnt hotdogs were the only way to eat them....and he made our summers even better!! I loved him immensely and he will never be forgotten. I want to send my love and prayers to the entire Polhemus family and to say thanks for all the great memories! Love, Jilian & Austin White

To Mrs. Polhemus and your entire family. We only meet "Poppy" a few times, but heard stories of him over and over again from Pat and my sister Sue. She always said he was the "Perfect Grandfather" we all loved him just from the stories we heard. May you know you are all in our prayers during this difficult time. May God Bless you all.
