It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Americo Amaral, who departed this life peacefully on July 25, 2025, at the age of 81.
Born on June 25, 1944, in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal, Americo Amaral grew up surrounded by the beauty of the island and the strength of family and community. Through hard work and dedication, he built a meaningful life in his new home while always holding his roots close to his heart.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Sofia Amaral, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship. Together, they raised two children, Joao Paulo and Debora, who were his pride and joy and later welcomed seven grandchildren Sofia, Vito, Maria, Giuseppe, Jon, Anna, and Antoinetta who brought light and laughter into his life. He is also lovingly remembered by his daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Vassiliki and Vito.
Americo Amaral will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his strong work ethic, and the quiet wisdom he shared with those around him. He enjoyed simple pleasures—spending time with loved ones, sharing stories of his homeland, and passing down traditions to the next generation.
