Anaclete (Anna) Didier died peacefully at home May 7, 2018 surrounded by her family, after struggling with diabetes and its complications. She was in the 90th year.
Anna was born to Eliza Thomas and Clive Sorhaindo in Bense, Dominica on July 13, 1928, the eldest of 11 children. She is survived by her children Patricia, Anne (son-in-law John), Laurine (son-in-law Alan), and Bryant (partner Josephine). Grandchildren Candi, Nadine, Andrew, Natalie, Nicholas, Jeanette, Terry, Terra, Laurine Jr., Augustine and Winston and their husbands/wives/partners Rasheda, Vanessa, Tiffanie, Hanif and Josh. Great grandchildren Brier, Nalia, Bailey, Presley, Keian, Maya, Emery and most recently Nolan. Siblings Stephanie, Nalda, Joan, Rosie, Rupert and Renneth. Predeceased by her loving Husband Paul Didier, daughter Rosie, great grandchildren Sebastian and Jesse, siblings Martin, Bernard, Crispin and Victoria.
Anna lived according to her faith, always believing that there was a better place after this life on earth. She often spoke about going to see her maker and the love and joy she would find there; as well as meeting her parents, husband, relatives and friends that had preceded her. Her unending love and devotion to God was so great that her death was a profound and impacting experience. It was peaceful and loving, she was surrounded by the family that she had taught unconditional love.
There will be a visitation being held on Thursday May 10th, 2018 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-7pm. There will then be a Prayer Vigil held from 7pm-8pm. The Giffen-Mack Funeral Home is located at 2570 Danforth Avenue, at the corner of Main and Danforth (by Main subway).
The Funeral Service will be held the following day on Friday May 11th, 2018 at 11am at St. Ann Parish located at 120 First Avenue.
Following cremation, the cremated remains will be interred in Dominica at a later date.
