Andy was a huge inspiration to so many in his selfless contributions towards the success of the education of children with special needs, but that was not enough for him. He committed his time to helping and touching everyone in his life and I feel blessed that I was able to spend time with him.
All of the special dinners we enjoyed together along with good wine and jokes are remembered so fondly. To this day I still repeat many of the jokes and laugh hysterically.
While education was one of his biggest loves, he had others. Sports, namely squash and golf were a big love of this jock as he excelled at both games. His talent was limitless!
His biggest love of all was of course, Sylvia. He loved her unconditionally and her him.
I hope the time will come when there are moments of peace to warm you and that you find support in gentle words and small graces. I hope you feel comfort knowing that David and I are thinking of you. We are so sorry for your loss.

Dear Sylvia, 
                          Words alone cannot express the sadness and helplessness we feel for your loss. We didn't see Andy as often as we would have liked to, but the times we shared were well spent. He had a wicked sense of humour, appreciated jovial banter and made an excellent decision when he chose you to be the woman who would be his life's partner.  

We were unaware of Andy's dedication to the Special Needs community in Toronto and, more particularly, at St. Patrick's school. You must be very proud of his involvement in that regard, and also for the many other endeavours for which he received awards.  

May Andy's love and the memories he left with you be a blessing and a gift that you will cherish until you meet again. 

May God grant you the strength to carry the burden of your grief and the knowledge that Andy will be waiting for you in Heaven.

Mr. Stanko, as I liked to call him, such a sweet quiet charming man. Always smiling and pleasant whenever I would see him in the bank or at the ATM or on the street. very sad day..a brother-in-law,the Godfather to our first child, a friend..we spent many Christmases together,we golfed together,we had many a BBQ at both the traillor and at our home...we went to a few hockey games,a few baseball games...we shared a few pops along the way...you  took  the  many of my hammerings on the leafs fate in good stride...we had some good jokes...i was very proud of you when you were inducted into the Ukrainian hall-of-fame...i bragged about it to my friends,,,i was a proud fellow Ukrainian...you will be missed....R.I.P.

Dearest uncle Andy,

You will be sincerely missed by Dave and I and your great nieces and nephew . You will be remembered by us as a smart, funny,  sarcastic uncle and we will always remember your big smile and your contagious laugh.  You were a big part in our Christmas gatherings in Coniston for as long as I can remember and I will always remember the same story you told of me "prutting loudly in your hands at my baptism  " I always pictured  that as something you would have shared with everyone as a speach on my wedding day for a chuckle as it made you laugh every time you told it. ...  :)    my wedding day has not come yet but I will honour your life with a glass of your favorite red wine when that day comes
Your passing was hard to swallow as I cared deeply for you and for my auntie Yaya (Sylvia).  Know that even though I never told you I loved you, I did.  
May God and all the heavens welcome you back, you are home.

Dearest Sylvia
Larry and I want to share our very deepest condolences on Andy's passing.  I was more than shocked when you called to tell me the very, very sad news.

You and Andy were so very important to us since you and my dear late mom, Kay, became friends as patients and roommates in the hospital, so many years ago.  You and Andy were always there for Mom, visiting her, calling her for all her birthdays and important events, despite the fact that she was much older than you (old enough to be your mother). She treasured all the lovely thoughtful gifts you gave her.  Mom adored both of you and always spoke so fondly of you until her passing over a year ago.

 As a retired teacher myself, I really appreciate the work that Andy did that helped to change the lives of the many students he taught.  Thank you to both of you for all you have done for others.  Sylvia, Andy was a very special person and hopefully you can take comfort in the wonderful memories you have of him.  Rest in peace Andy.

Sylvia, Paul and I were so sad to hear of Andy’s death. We have had to say goodbye to so many of our St. Pat’s colleagues. I have so many memories of working with Andy and sharing after school activities. His care and dedication to his students was always front and centre. I also appreciated his volleyball coaching tips!
