

Athanasios (Tom) Mpatsos, age 85, of Scarborough, Ontario, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 3rd, 2022 surrounded by his wife Chrisoula and two daughters, Marianthy and Katerina by his side. Predeceased by his eldest brother John Batsos(2006), Athanasios is survived by his loving wife, Chrisoula and his devoted daughters Marianthy, Katerina and grandchildren Thanasi, Joy, Strato, Christo and his brother Dimitrios Batsos.
Born July 19th, 1936, in Varos, Limnos, Greece of his father Vasilios and mother Marianthy. He immigrated to Toronto Canada in 1966, and married his wife Chirsoula in 1971 and had two daughters, and fulfilling entrepreneurial endeavours.
He was a hard working man of honour, values and traditions. He always made people laugh, welcomed them in their home, and made a lasting impression to those who met him.
A visitation for Athanasios will be held Sunday, January 9th, 2022 from 2-4 p.m. at Jerrett Funeral Homes, 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, ON M1K 2B5. A funeral service will occur Monday, January 10th, 2022 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church, 1385 Warden Ave., Scarborough, ON M1R 2S3. A burial will follow at Elgin Mills Cemetery, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill, ON L4S 1M9.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitation and funeral numbers are limited in the building at any given time to 30 people at a time with 10 minute increments, to prevent line-ups or congestion and allow for social distancing. All visitors must wear masks and contacting tracing will occur upon entry.
