Death is so quiet and so loud
Breathless dramatic
Finally still

And into this silence
Barry's voice soars
Rich and free
A mind too brilliant
To be at peace
In this circus called world
Finally at rest

Barry worthy of a love
Magnificent love
From childhood through adulthood
And back again
By his Gal Named Lil'
By a voice as brilliant as his own
As brilliant as is their beautiful Danielle

Death has left them alone
Never leaving
Forever love
Barry and Lil and Danielle
Forever love.

Ah, Barry... One of my favourite guys of all. So many productions and each one holding a special place in my cluttered attic of a brain. Your wit; your laugh and you never held back. Living every moment. Giving every iota of your talent. Taking joy in the effort just as much.
Singing a duet with yourself in the greenroom to the delight of everyone...
I'm so sorry I didn't keep in touch. You've been on my mind more often than you might have believed as I look back...
Thanks, dear man.
Safe home.

Barry was one of the first persons I met when I joined the COC chorus in 1977. He had brought Danielle to the music rehearsals, and she knew all the various chorus parts long before many of the chorus! Loved his sense of humour, and his wry smile. As I'm typing this I have a visual image of him expressing his opinion about something or other ("Well, you know....."). Fondly remember a number of his stage roles with the COC, particularly "The Merry Widow". Early on in my career I had the privilege of sharing the stage with him in Opera in Concert's production of Leoncavallo's "La Boheme", in which he was Marcello, as I recall. He will be missed!

I have a number of fond memories of my cousin Barry. But my favourite are of proudly watching and listening to him perform in musicals. I was always extremely proud to be the cousin of the handsome, talented tenor. My sympathies to Liliane and Danielle.
