I was very sorry to hear of your father's passing. Sounds like he was a wonderful man.When I saw you recently, you said you had been spending alot of time with your family. At the time I didn't know the circumstances. How lucky you were to be able to share many precious moments with him. You will always have those memories.

Dear Patty, Stephanie and Families -
We were so sorry to hear about the passing of your wonderful Dad, Basil. He was a delightful man who could bring a twinkle to anyone's eye with his great sense of humour.
He shared many many good times with my parents over the years they were all neighbours on the Black River. He was probably my Dad's best friend; they shared a love of good jazz music and a similar sense of humour. They are probably sharing a glass of rum in Heaven right now! My Mom also counted him as a great friend; she enjoyed his quick wit and many acts of kindness. I know that he is going to be missed terribly by everyone who knew 
him.
I'm so glad that my sisters & I got to have a last visit with Basil a month ago when we were out to visit my Mom. It was incredible to see the loving care that you were so unselfishly giving him, allowing him to be exactly where
he wanted to be - at home with his loved ones. And it was also great to see that he still had his happy spirit and fun sense of humour...because those are what he'll be most remembered for. 
He was a unique person, and we're honoured to have known him.

We are very sad to hear about the loss of a wonderful, happy man!  We will always remember seeing him with a smile on his face when we came to visit my parents in Washago.   The love and respect you showed your Dad allowing him to be home, taking time from your busy lives to care for him, is amazing.

Dear Stephanie/Patti and family. Your Dad was a wonderful,fun loving man who always had a smile and a joke for everone. He will be missed on the Black River,especially in the summer, sitting on the deck and having our drinks. You gals and your family did a wonderful job looking after your Dad and keeping him happy during his illness. Bas and I met when we were 9.   I like to remember times with Bas at Ferndale when we first started listening to, appreciating, and discussing jazz – fun and great times!  I miss those days.  I am going to miss my good friend.

Hi Stephanie, I admire your Dads courage during the last few months and how you and Patty were with him through all of it.  Also the love that he had for his family, how he was devoted to looking after your Mom when she was ill.  You don't see or hear about that kind of love any more.  He is with his sweatheart again.
