Bernadette Dondo

Bernadette Anyango Dondo of Toronto ON was born on 7th May 1955 in Kenya and passed away on June 6th, 2023 in Toronto after a brave battle with ovarian cancer.

Bernadette was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph Dondo and the late Teresia Dondo of Migori County, Kenya and stepdaughter to the late Eunice Dondo and Tabitha Rae of Kenya. She was also a devoted mother to Rossana Iyadi and grandmother to Manuela Joaquim, both of Toronto.

Bernadette was sister to Rose Gumo, Dr. Margaret Dondo, the late Prisca Sibomana, Bertha Omanya, Hon. Grace Odhiambo, the late Elizabeh Dondo, the late Boniface Otieno, the late Tom Nyunja, Paul Dondo, Elizabeth Opondo, Catherine Aboge, Marianna Daunt, and Bilha Nazir. Bernadette was also a cousin, in-law, and aunty to many.

Being a member of a large family, Bernadette mastered the art of being the universal sister, auntie, grandma who got along with everyone. She enjoyed the friendship of all and was often seen as the peacemaker in the family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by family and friends.

The funeral service for the late Bernadette will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 520 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, Ontario - date (TBD)

Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, 7300 Highway 27, Woodbridge, ON
