Dear Dear Brenda, I know you're up there, shining like the bright  sunlit daylight and glowing warmly in the cooler evening hours. Gosh, we laughed and I will never forget you, that I know. You brought so much happiness to lots of your friends and family, and lots of happiness to me in many ways and I feel you around all the time, it makes me smile and I believe in you as much now,  as I did then.

I still do not know what to say... Heartfelt thoughts go out to you in this time of sorrow.  Brenda was a special person,  friends for over 35 years, a confidante who will always be in my heart.  She may be gone from our sight but not from our hearts.  We are thinking about you and sending love, Jocelyn, Norman and Gregory 

Oh, Mama. That's what you were: another mama to me since I was 15 years old. How many memories I have of hanging out downstairs on the couch with you while Alex wasn't home or was upstairs yelling that I was her friend and not yours (I was both of your friends). But there is no memory like the time that I was heartbroken, confused and going through a divorce and you stepped up and acted like a mama: you flew me to Detroit to spend the holidays stress-free with you and my best friend. It was generous and loving and protective. It is there where you opened up to me and spoke to me like the adult I had become, without taking away the loving tenderness of being a mama who is caring for a broken heart. To top it off, we all laughed non-stop. Do you know how grateful I am for all of that? For you being exactly who you are?

Brenda was a beautiful soul who treated all with love and humor.
Everyone who met her was better for knowing her. All the experiences she had in life made her a better person. Those who hurt her never heard any scorn as she used the hurt to move on and treat all as she wished to be treated. Good bye to my wonderful and amazing friend. Love you always and forever.

Brenda was one of the most special people I have ever met. I will be forever be indebted to her for bringing my forever roomie, her daughter Alex, into this world. Her hugs were so comforting, her laughter so sweet. This is a huge loss for many, but we will all love her forever I'm sure.  

My heart goes out to Brenda's family and friends. I am so sorry for your loss. Brenda was a neighbour of mine at 1080 KR. She was always so upbeat and pleasant, and had a great sense of humour.  I was sad to hear of her passing. She will not be forgotten.

The lovely Brenda, what a wonderful, enchanting, effervescent, loving soul. I met her in recent times and every second, was nothing less than an utter joy. And for, me, and I am sure others too, it brought in a whole new meaning of the word 'laughter' and good times. Yes, it is sad, and my heart goes out to Brenda's family and friends., But I know that Brenda will always be around, I can feel her presence now as I write and will feel her presence each day and night, with fond, happy, (often mad) meaningful, and touching memories. I would imagine she has enriched so many other lives along the way. It has been such a bliss to have known Brenda, in my thoughts and never forgotten, you will sparkle forever.

I've put the 70s music channel on to write this farewell to you, Brenda.  They played a jazz song! You would not be pleased. Thank you for choosing to take on the role of my big sister when it was thrust upon you in 1974. Thanks for all the "firsts". First time learning about eyebrow plucking and applying makeup, first limo ride,  first Broadway production,  first time in NYC, first mani-pedi etc. etc. I can not say goodbye but I will to promise to hold you in my heart, keep you close and think of you every time a 70s tune is played, every time one of your favourite movies or TV shows comes on and every time I hear your voice in my head...daily. 




Rest in peace Brenda you will surely be missed though you are not physically here you will always be in our heart we know there are big things to come from you and your new life enjoy your new wings always love you Brenda💟

My heart is broken, and I wish condolences to the family. I will always remember the beautiful soul that was Brenda. She was life and she had a chemistry that was a great energy to be around. She made me laugh, and was a genuine person . I will cherish the conversation and good times aboard Carobya⚓. Love you Brenda, rest in peace.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news.  I met Brenda about 20 years ago through our mutual friend, Valerie, and we hit it off right away. 
 Brenda was at the top of the guest list for my yearly "Spaghetti Dinner" party.  She always brought her wonderful Caesar Salad and a great sense of humour.   Such a gentle and caring soul, and I know her passing leaves a big hole in so many hearts.  My condolences to her family.  Rest in peace, my friend.



So very sad to hear of Brenda's sudden passing.  A delightful woman, so witty and warm, and so much fun to be with.  My sincere condolences to her daughter Alex, her family and friends.

My dear friend, I wish that you could have stayed longer. I will miss you until my last days. We had the best times together over the past 51 years. . Our road trips were the best. We’d have to pull over to the side of the highway because we were laughing so hard. BELLY LAUGHS!  We were best friends/sisters. You always called my parents Mom & Dad. And they loved you like a daughter. 
The past 18 months have been so difficult for so many throughout our World. But, during these Covid months, we spoke often and were planning our next road trip to SSM. We were looking forward to finally being able to see one another again. We would always  text before calling (because of the 3 hour time difference), ….”are you free to chat?”…Yes, give me a sec, I’ll pour some wine! 
We were roommates twice, went to school together,  worked together, travelled together, and I was able to visit you in countries and States where you were living…..AND we did lots of SHOE SHOPPING …… So much laughter, always. There were NO BAD DAYS!
I don’t know how I will cope not having you here. I really do not know. You’ve always been here for me, and I’ve always been here for you. I know that you would not want me to be sad. I will play our favourite road-tripping  songs, especially …“You’re here for a good time, not a longtime” often.
 I’m so happy that we got to plan and travel together to Italy and Holland one last time in May/June 2019. So many memories. (Our 3rd trip to Europe). 
I wish you eternal peace my beautiful friend. And, remember Bren….you’re in Heaven now, so keep  the jokes clean.  Love you forever…..💋 Kk

For 45 years Brenda has been a light in my life. From being roommates in the early seventies to traveling to the various countries she lived in to taking trips together, she has been a constant and much beloved friend. RIP my BFF and someday we'll meet again.
