My sincere condolences to you both and the family.  My thoughts and prayers are with you during this time. 

Brian and I  met through scouting when he joined my pack as a leader while enrolling his son Eric as a cub.  He and his family were a great asset to the 115th  Cub Pack.  You will be missed.

I had never met Brian in person. We met through our shared hobby of Amateur Radio, completely by chance as these things go, and quickly became friendly acquaintances. Any time one heard the other pop up on the air, conversation ensued, about almost any and every topic. Countless times we chatted about whatever topic as I was out doing errands and he was relaxing in the yard, and over time discovered we had mutual friends in the hobby (also as these things go), so always something to idly pass the time talking about. 
Talking with Brian always put a smile on my face, he was just one of those guys who made you feel good just in how he talked, his relaxed, thoughtful and kind nature came through with every word. He was a fine gentleman, and a first-class radio operator. 
My condolences to his family and friends, we've been blessed to have had him, so I won't lament that he's not here now, I will celebrate that he was.  Safe journeys and good radio propagation be with you, my friend. // 73  paul

Brian was one of the first neighbours I met when we moved onto Marlow Avenue.  He was such a warm person that had the ability to immediately put you at ease and make you feel welcome. We had many great chats about how much our dog Hachi reminded him of his and Christina's beloved Great Pyrenees dogs. I always left conversations with a smile on my face, and a deep appreciation for our wonderful neighbours. Christina, I am so sorry for your family's immense loss.  Brian will be dearly missed. 

Brian and Christina were the first people that we met when we moved in across the street from them seven years ago.  They both made us feel so welcome.  Every time that Brian saw our children he greeted them by name.  This past week as we all felt sad we also took the time to remember special things about Neighbour Brian. Our Alice (age 7) said "I liked that Brian would be out gardening on every beautiful summer's day."  This is how we will remember him.   We are fortunate live on a very special street.  Brian helped to make it so special.

I always enjoyed Brian's sense of humor and looked forward to his talks over the garden fence.

I'm sure he is sharing his jokes with everyone else in a better place  right now.

Dear Brian, always far away from the Netherlands. As a Brother in law we never met you face to face and that's a pitty. Sometimes we spoke you on the pfhone, but mostly it was Christina we spoke to. We are very sad that there was no time left to meet you in person. But you are always in our mind.

I worked with Brian for many years  at Birchmount Division where we became friends.  It was an absolute  pleasure to have known him  & enjoyed his calm demeanour & wry senses of humour.

I met Brian in the fall of 2018 after I had been dating his daughter Danielle for a couple of months.  I was nervous at first, as lots of folks are, I think, when meeting a partner's parents for the first time.  I was, however, immediately put at ease (thankfully!) by Brian's easy going nature.  Since then, I came to know a kind and humble man who demonstrated an indefatigable devotion to his family under extremely difficult circumstances. I regret not having the opportunity to know him better, as I am certain I am a better man for having known him at all.  Rest in peace, Brian.
