Daughter of the late Nigel Morris and Rosetta Morris (nee Ridge), predeceased by her devoted husband, Clifton Russell, Caroline was loved by a large family of siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was an amazing mother to Erica, Dione, and Chrisy Russell; doting grandmother to Justice, Joella and Solomon; and proud great-grandmother to Octavia.
Born February 4, 1950, in St. Catherines, Jamaica, Caroline was called “Sunshine” by those who held her in their arms. In her youth, she was innovative and fearless in many ways. She skillfully rode a motorbike while balancing heavy loads; some called her " little but tallawah (strong)”.
As a nineteen-year-old, Caroline immigrated to Canada and immediately worked her way through essential jobs as a nanny, cook, and seamstress. Those blessed to love her and be loved by her, called her: Caroline, Gloria, Wife, Mom, Grandma, Auntie, Cousin and Friend. Her dream was to make a better life for her family. Her legacy is that she loved deeply, helped willingly, laughed hard, and achieved dreams.
Caroline knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and daily grew dependent on him. On January 3rd, 2025, our Heavenly Father who loves her best, called her home.
Caroline Russell will be sadly missed, but her memory and love will linger in the hearts and stories of those who cherish her.
