Born in Chatham, her family moved to Toronto when she was young, and she spent her childhood years growing up in Cabbagetown and lived most of her adult life in East York. In later years she lived at St. Georges Care Community.
She was a kind hearted individual, very compassionate, generous and loving, who loved to smile & laugh. She enjoyed dancing and listening to music throughout her life. She loved animals of all kinds, and had numerous pets over the years, including cats, rabbits, hamsters, and birds. In later years, when she was unable to have pets of her own, she surrounded herself with photos of animals, including many of Lacey, her son’s dog, who she inquired about on every phone call.
Christine was a devoted sister to Victor, beloved mother to her “Beautiful baby boy” Stephen, second mom to her loving daughter in law Donna, and proud & loving grandmother of Michael. She also had an extended chosen family which included her oldest and dearest friend Valerie, and her sons Peter and Jeffrey, and Jeff’s wife Carolene.
She will be joining predeceased family members and friends, including her cherished mother Patricia, uncles Alexander and George, Aunt Sadie, father of her son Lutz, and longtime friend Linda.
We all mourn the loss of Christine, and we will remember her long after her passing. She touched the hearts of many people. The world is a little darker without her love in it.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Action Volunteers for Animals (AVA Cat Rescue - avacats.org) would be appreciated as Christine’s wishes.
