This wonderful young man died on Saturday in a tragic accident.
David Speicher
 Dave was so special. If you met him you'd remember.
 He was boyishly charming, a skilled he honed on me. One of the few people after knowing him years, I still fell for his teases. He was highly intelligent, but kind and generous. He called a spade a spade but never insulted you.
 He and his wife where the ultimate couple. She is beautiful and sweet, a little shy and very artistic. What she can do too a cake is amazing. She too is kind and generous and a fabulous Mom to their two boys.
 They are both very involved in their kids school, Dave was the head of the PTA in that school, both, very involved parents. I believe it is the works to get a park at the school named after him.
That must tell you what kind of man he was.
Held in very high regard among so many, including me.
 I had a deep respect for his accomplishments. All achieved on his own merits, no hand outs here, at such a young age.
 Dave had managed to climb pretty high in his field of choice, working with the public in times of need.
He liked his job and had garnered the respect of his piers. 
He was political and would have made the best MP or even PM. 
I never won a argument with him. Not politically anyways. He had convictions, and a strong opinion and facts to back them.
God he was so smart, so fair, and usually so right.
 Like I said Dave was a amazing dad! AMAZING! His boys were kept active in sports and some serious play time and adventures too. What ever cool thing was coming up. He deeply loved his boys and took actual joy in hanging with them. It wasn't something he had to do... It was something he loved to do.
 Dave was the best friend you could ever have.
And too my boys, he was more than that, he was bother. They called each other bro. They, like most of Dave's friends, grew up together in public school. Dave was at my house more than not. There was a group of them, school chums, whom too this day are friends.
If you were Dave's friend, you were his friend for life. He took loyalty very seriously no mater how much time or space, or busy life kept you apart, you were always there, held in his heart.
 My boys will never heal the hole this young man has left in their hearts, as well as his many, many friends and loved ones he leaves behind. He was like that. Unforgettable, irreplaceable, significant.
 My deepest condolences to his family, friends and all he touched with his never ending generosity, kindness, sense of fairness, and if you were among the very lucky...LOVE.

Although I have not seen David in several years, my memory of him is vivid. And what I see when I think of him is his smile. David was an integral part of my formative years. He was often the voice of reason while still managing to be a little mischievous. It was a pleasure to call him my friend. My heartfelt condolences go out to his wife, boys, and his family. Such a tragedy to lose such a bright light too soon. Rest in peace, David. You will not be forgotten.

I am deeply sorry for your loss. David was special and had a way that made everyone feel like a friend. He was passionate about helping program workers help their program participants. His primary focus though was always his wife and two boys. Gone way too soon. He will be remembered as one of the good guys. Darlene.

David Speicher was a great colleague of The East Scarborough Storefront and had a caring soul for community work.  Time and time again, David showed his devotion to his work, the community and to his family.  He would often share funny and loving stories of his two young boys and wife that made us laugh.  David was an incredible person and a great friend of The Storefront.  He will be missed very much.  Our condolences to Erin, Jacob, Nathan and to all who had their lives touched by David.

I am shocked and heart broken to hear about David's passing. David was a big part of my teenage years. A lot of memories, laughter, and joy are coming back to me from that time. To a  dear Uncle, David Speicher was a loved and loving man who dedicated his life to the betterment of those around him. The shock I experienced hearing the sad news of David's passing will be with me for a long time.  His departure is far too soon, he had so much more to offer and will never see his children grow up.

Dave is one of the most solid guys I know.  Anyone who steps foot on Rensburg Drive knows that if you've ever lived on that street you become part of a bigger family. I only worked with David for a short while, but in that time it was very clear to me the type of man and leader he was. I remember being new to my job, and David would ask me about how my work was going and if I needed any support. I remember when I asked for his help on a file, he immediately turned all his attention to me, listened to everything that I thought, and offered his insight. I also remember how David was active in so many different things  PTA, his kids' baseball and work life. I heard David on numerous times offer to help his coworkers, not just at work, but at home like in the yard. I can't think of a more generous and smart person. He was an example for us all. I am truly sorry that he's gone  my deepest, deepest sympathies to his wife and sons.

David you and I have known each other for over 16 years.  We have worked together from the Feds to the Province.  I have seen you grow from a young man to a successful husband and father!!  You always kept me laughing through the hardest time of my life, when I was trying to get pregnant and with your joy and encouragement it worked.

I can't even imagine what your family is going through.  A shining light has been burnt out to soon!!  When you and I would start to talk about work and then we would change it to family life has always been something special for me.  Especially the stories you would tell me about your beautiful wife Erin and absolutely gorgeous kids.  The devotion you have for them, will always be with them.

David was a great colleague and human being. Always made people around him comfortable with his sense of humour. 

David was one of my trainers when I joined the Ontario Public Service (OPS) last year. He had a knack to make OPS newcomers like me comfortable with his friendly demeanour. He never showed an iota of pride or tried to impress upon me that he's an expert at his job.
 
David, people like you are rare and precious. You made a positive impact on everyone around you in the short time you were around. RIP my friend and my heartfelt condolences to your family whom you loved so much.

I had the privilege of playing softball with Dave for several years.  He was a great player and a wonderful guy.  He spoke so highly of his wife and boys.  They were the apple of his eye.  I was thrilled every time we got a few minutes of catch-up time when we'd bump into each other on the subway or on the street.  I will miss Dave very much. We are deeply saddened by the loss of David Speicher. His love for his family, his zest for life, his passion to make his corner of the world a better place were evident to all. Whenever he came into the school, he always wore a smile, extended his arm for a handshake or hug, ready to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. We will miss him.

David was not only a collegue, but also a great friend. Kind, generous, funny and always willing to help. I will miss him, his infectious smile and passion for life, as well as our lunch and coffee breaks. My heart goes out to his family. May you find peace and comfort in the memories that you shared with him. RIP my friend. xoxo

We are so shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of our dear friend David.  A great person taken from us to soon, he will be greatly missed.

Dave will be missed by his 2 St Clair his work family. I have known Dave for over 10 years and he just rejoined our office as SDC it was great to spend time with him again and be around his positive energy. He was so glad to be back here making a difference each day! The bonds and friendships he held over several offices he worked at are inspiring.
Dave I will miss you Brother. My sincerest condolences to Erin and his boys. God Bless.

So very sad to hear of Dave's passing.  He will be greatly missed by his work friends and colleagues.  I have many fond memories of laughs and timmies runs when we worked together at Bridgeland. I wish much peace to Erin and the boys whom I know Dave loved more than anything.
