I lost the photos we took when you came to visit me in Ottawa, but I still remember the visit vividly. I hadn't seen you for about eight years prior, but as soon as I saw you I forgave the time we spent apart. I remember waking up to find you standing on the balcony drinking a cup of coffee. That was the last time I saw you, but now you are in peace and I can only be thankful for the times we did spend together. I love you dad. I always will.

Rest now, dearest Domenic, for the peace your troubled soul could not find here on Earth, is forever with you now, in the loving arms of God. You will never be forgotten.

It was hard to get through the week. Knowing you aren't walking around the city you love. Knowing that I'll never get to talk to you again. I often visit this page to see what others have written, but now it's time to for me close it forever. I know that you don't want me to cry or be sad. I know you would want me to remember our time together, not your death. So I will say good-bye for now. I'll see you at Heaven's gates one day and you can hold my hand as we make our way to eternity together.

We had our final time together last Tuesday and it was heartbreaking for me to see you in such pain. But I would not want you to spent another painful day just so I could be ok. Rest well my brother. RIP

I've said good-bye to you once, twice, too many times to count. I never thought that our last good-bye would be just that. I miss your silly jokes and I miss your laugh. I miss that leather fanny pack you used to wear and your distinctive moustashe. I miss the words "I love you".  You held my hand when I was a little girl and when you walked me down the aisle on my wedding day. Please hold my hand now as I sleep and wipe away my tears. Tears of love. Tears of loss. Tears of the memories that I'll hold dear to my heart. I will never stop loving you.

GM Domenic, you were not alone, Daddy was with you; for his walking cane was lying beside you. You have impacted my life these last few months, reawakened feelings about life, compassion, respect, and the truth about the meaning of love, that I am forever grateful.
