He was a devoted husband to Felicia for 67 years, and a beloved father to Connie (Jack), Joanne (Tony), and Josie (Joey). He was a proud grandfather to Frank, Domenico, Giacomo Jr., and Melissa, and found immense joy in the company of the family dogs: Maggie, Charlie, Lola, and Chase.
Born on April 18, 1934, in Sant'Onofrio, in the Province of Vibo Valentia, Calabria, Italy, Domenico dedicated his life to his family, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and loyalty. He was a man of strength and wisdom.
A farmer at heart, Domenico was passionate about gardening, savoring a good plate of pasta, and enjoying a glass of his homemade wine. When he wasn’t challenging himself with crossword puzzles or playing a hand of scopa, he found joy in strumming his guitar and singing traditional Italian songs. He was also never one to miss the chance to dance a waltz or tango at a wedding, always moving with joy and grace.
Domenico had a strong work ethic and retired from the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) after 28 years of dedicated service. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment, warm humor, and the lasting impact he had on everyone around him.
Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the love he gave. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
