Don’s life was shaped by his intellectual curiosity, his industriousness, and his spirit of adventure. He was born in Toronto on May 21, 1938. After time flying in the Air Force Reserve as a Navigator and attending Victoria College at the University of Toronto, Don spent his formative years in the fast-paced world of finance. In 1974, he left the city to raise his children and to farm the land in Grey County, Ontario. He later pursued graduate studies in early French literature at the University of Waterloo.
Don eventually returned to Toronto, where he pursued his life-long loves for bridge and travel, exploring such far-flung places as Russia, Malaysia, India, and Japan.
He will be interred at the Hampton Union Cemetery in Hampton, Ontario alongside his parents on May 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m..
