I have known Doris since we were MBA students. She was a person of great personal responsibility- to family, colleagues and friends. She wholeheartedly accomplished everything she set her hand to with brisk efficiency. She balanced integrity and duty with a keen sense of humour.

Doris’ life, although too short, was very well lived. She will be sorely missed.

While I have only known Doris for a very brief two and a half months through our attending a bereavement group, I was impressed by Doris’ determination and spirit in moving through the grieving for her late husband. A kind and compassionate person, Doris was empathetic to the pain of others while dealing with her own sadness. I would like to have known her under different circumstances...my condolences to Doris’ family. The puppy she was so excited to receive will miss a very caring master.

Doris and I go back to our AMP Days. There weren't a lot of female managers so we bonded, Doris with her practical, no-nonsense approach and me with my sentimental streak. Opposites attracting. When I left 23 years ago to start my own company, we stayed in touch. We'd routinely lunch in a Unionville restaurant, go to the yarn store, and stroll through the town, always talking and sharing our issues. She was the precise knitter, crafting sweaters for family and I made potholders. She was always there when I needed sound advice. She helped me focus a report for executives, and pick the essence through my stories. Usually on opposite sides of the political spectrum, we enjoyed debating our views on the superficialities and then sharing the real family issues that were most important. These last years were hard for her losing her dad, helping her mum through his loss, and especially dealing with John's medical situation. They had a tight bond, the envy of many married couples. She said her weekly bereavement group was helping her more than she expected, and that volunteer work for the church provided some solace, especially warding off loneliness. She was so excited about her minilabradoodle, and was going to be picking him up tomorrow.

It's very hard to realize that she's gone. A lot of people have a tiny hole in their heart right now.

Heartbroken to hear of Doris' sudden passing. We had just talked about how excited she was to pick up her new puppy, Freya, at the end of this month. First getting to know Doris through summer jobs at Tyco as a teenager, we kept in touch via email over the years, and more frequently in the past few years, especially more recently as I pursued my Executive MBA, something she always encouraged me to do. We exchanged stories of our MBAs and other things that we were up to in lengthy emails that I always looked forward to. She was incredibly supportive and genuinely interested in everything I did from sports to career to school, which I will never forget. I looked up to her as a mentor and admired her involvement in community and intelligence. I'm grateful for the strong connection we shared and the support we provided each other, both which I'll miss deeply. I was very much looking forward to having her share in the celebrations of my MBA graduation (she even helped pick my grad photo!). Here's hoping she's in a better place now, reunited with John and her parents. Thank you for everything, Doris. You are missed. Rest in peace.

My sincere condolences to the family at this time.

I was blessed to have crossed paths with Doris over 20 years ago when I worked at Tyco. It was under her leadership I grew to be the people leader I am today. She was a very supportive leader.

I had very fond memories of Doris and her adventures, especially skiing and she would always speak so lovingly about John.

Rest In Peace Doris, you are gone but not forgotten.

Much Love 💔

My deepest condolences to Doris' family. She was a kind woman who was also a great business leader.

Doris had a profound impact on my career. She gave me an opportunity when I was a young man and I am where I am today because she believed in me. I will never forget her and I appreciate having met her in my life.

Although I moved to the U.S., we still kept in touch. Doris and I would have lunch once a year while I was in town. She always spoke fondly of her husband and family. I know she loved them dearly.

I will remember Doris as a friend and a mentor. She was a strong business leader who was also a considerate person that cared about others.

May Doris' soul Rest In Peace. I take comfort knowing that she is reunited with John.

I will miss you Doris.
