Doug is survived by his brothers James (Diane Chartrand), Gerald (Susan Bourguignon), and his twin brother Donald, as well as several nieces and nephews and special friends that he held dear. He is predeceased by his husband Jay Brown, brothers Ronald (Kathy Cougle) and William (Billy).
Doug leaves behind a legacy of love and family bonds and will be sorely missed by all.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of Doug's life will be held in Ottawa at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian cancer society.
