I don't know what to say. I still cannot believe it, or that David passed too. Such horrible, awful news.

So, I guess I'll say this: Eddy was a gentleman. He was so respectful, especially to women. You knew he was raised well, and it showed.

He had the heart of a Lion. He was fiercely loyal. If he loved you, you knew it.

He adored his family: his parents, his siblings, his children, and his grandchildren. He always spoke highly of his extended family too. He loved you all.

He adored his mother. Marg, I hope you're ok. Such terrible losses, in such a very short time. I'm so, so sorry.

He was a very spiritual man in his own way.

He was always fastidiously clean, lol, and dressed impeccably.

The last ten years were hard on Eddy, but he didn't deserve any of it. He never hurt anyone. I guess God works in very mysterious ways.

In closing, I'll always remember him. May he fly with the angels now.

Love always,

Sylvia and Buddy.

Darryl and I were at the cottage one weekend and so was Rhonda and Eddy. This was before the birth of any of our children.

Suddenly Rhonda was at our door in a panic telling us to come help . Apparently Eddy was cutting grass when he, and I quote from Rhonda and Eddy 'cut part of his foot off' with the lawnmower. You see Eddy was cutting the grass in flip flops. We ran up to the cottage opened the door and Eddy immediately jumped into Darryl's arms. Eddy's foot was bandaged up so instead of trying to assess the damage we decided it was best to take him straight over to the mainland. So here is Darryl carrying 200 lb Eddy down to the Raitt's dock and into their boat. Now if you know Raitt's cottage the hill down to their dock is quite steep but Darryl managed with Eddy in his arms.

Over to Beaverton we went as fast as possible and after Darryl carefully placed Eddy in their car Rhonda rushed him to Orillia hospital.

A couple of hours later Eddy and Rhonda returned. Upon examination at the hospital the prognosis was that Eddy lost a toenail, yes folks, only a toenail!

Anyway, this is a true Thorah Island story that will not ever be forgotten by Darryl and I. All four of us had a good laugh and a drink afterwards.

Rest in Peace Eddy.

Condolences to the all the family
