

Elizabeth “Betty” Barrett (née Tynan), of Toronto, died June 4, 2024, at Michael Garron Hospital, East York. She was born in Dublin, Ireland on June 28, 1942, to Catherine Tynan (née McGrath) and Joseph Tynan. She emigrated to Canada in 1966. In Canada, she worked at the Canada Life Assurance Company, the Timothy Eaton Company, and IGA Inc.
Devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of St Dunstan’s Church on the Danforth for almost fifty years.
Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Paul (Lorraine) and two grandchildren, Megan and Dalton, Patrick, and Colin (Patti); one sister, Mary; and three brothers, Joey, Antony, and John; and countless nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul; four sisters, Carmel, Kathleen, Phyllis, Mary, and Rose; and three brothers, Joseph, Tommy, and Christy.
A visitation for Elizabeth will be held Sunday, June 9, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home, 2570 Danforth Ave., Toronto. A funeral service will take place on Monday, June 10, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Dunstan's Catholic Church, 3150 Danforth Ave. followed by a graveside service at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery located at 33 Memory Gardens ln, North York .
