Betty was a force to be reckoned with and a joy to all who knew her. Her family (especially her nieces and nephews) were her world.
Betty was born and raised in Toronto and was a die-hard Torontonian. She attended Earl Grey Elementary then Eastern Commerce. Work experience included Bell, CBC and Denlow School. The work at Denlow brought her tremendous joy and she had such a special way with all the children in her life. Betty had many friends that she touched over the years.
Betty had a zest for life, a sense of humour and travelled the world. Always up for an adventure, she's been to zoos, horse races, CNE, National Ballet and even danced with characters in a Wonderland show.
Betty is predeceased by her loving mum and dad, Kathleen (Kay) and John, her younger brother Arthur (Bud) and her nephew Glenn Armstrong.
Many happy memories are shared by her surviving family: Margaret Armstrong (sister); Marg Brown (sister-in-law); nephews Douglas (Jeanne) Brown and four children and Jeffrey (Suzie Dimblad) Brown, nieces Lesley (Kevin) Groth and three children, Heather (Chad) Klamer and two children, and Lily Brown; nephew Glenn Armstrong's three children, and niece Ann Armstrong and three children; cousins Louise Klaassen (Peter) and three children, and John Hickling ; and cousin Sandra Partridge and two daughters.
Thank you to all the ICU staff at Michael Garron Hospital and a special thank you to Marg Brown and great-niece Riley Groth for being by Betty's side throughout her last few weeks and as she passed. It's important to all her friends and family around the world to know she was not alone.
As per her wishes there will be no funeral. Cremation then burial with her mum and dad at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
