It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ellen Gillen on March 3, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born and raised in Toronto, Ontario, Ellen was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother who cherished time spent with her family above all else.
She was the beloved wife of more than 50 years to Eugene Joseph Gillen, who predeceased her. Loving mother to Joseph Gillen (Ashley Gillen) and Don Firth. Cherished grandmother to Cameron, Lennon, Caelan, and Eric, who brought her great joy and pride.
Ellen was the dear sister of Bernice Summerton, who also predeceased her, and a loving aunt to Scott Summerton.
Ellen will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and deep love for her family. Her warmth and presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will take place at Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne Street, Toronto, ON M4X1K5, CA, on March 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
