Elvira "Tita (Lizzie)" Elizabeth Brandy (née Romney) passed away peacefully on April 10, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario, at the age of 96. She was born on June 8, 1927, in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Elvira was a loving, caring, and no-nonsense mother who willingly carried the burdens of her loved ones. She was a faithful Christian who found joy in worship through song.
Elvira worked as the head cook at Simpson/Sears cafeteria. Her culinary skills were well-known, especially for her wedding cakes. Apart from cooking, she also enjoyed arts and crafts, showcasing her creativity and talent.
She will be forever cherished by her brother Alwin and her children, Bernice, Myrtle, Eulinice, Veronica, Paul, Steve, and Jennifer. Elvira will be deeply missed by her grandchildren Kayla, John, Glen, Junior, as well as all her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Egbert Brandy, sisters Elvira, Catherine, Eunice, and Eudine, and brother Ben.
The visitation and service for Elvira will be held on Saturday, April 27th, at Jerrett Funeral Home, located at 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, Ontario. Public visitation will take place from 10-12pm in the chapel, followed by the service at 12:00pm (livestreamed). A procession to Highland Memory Gardens for burial will follow (also livestreamed).
Elvira's legacy of love, dedication, and culinary talents will always be remembered by those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
