It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Francesca (Franca) Carnevale, née Vito, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, on September 11, 2025, at the age of 85. She left us far too soon, and her absence is deeply felt by all who knew and loved her.
Born in Scigliano, Cosenza, Italy, on April 2, 1940, Francesca left her homeland in August 1957 with her parents and sisters to begin a new life in Toronto, Canada. The following year, she reunited with her true love, Mario Ugo. They were married for 67 years, building a beautiful life together rooted in love, trust, family, and unwavering devotion—a testament to enduring partnership and commitment.
She was the proud and loving mother of Angie (Domenic) and Faustina (Nelson), a devoted Nonna to Charles (Samantha), Matthew (Haley), Daniel, and Sarah, and a cherished Bisnonna to her great-grandchildren, Hannah and Noah. Nothing brought her more joy than caring for and being close to her family, whose laughter and love filled her heart and gave her life its deepest meaning.
A loving homemaker, Francesca created a warm and welcoming home and took great joy in caring for her family through cooking, baking, sewing, and countless acts of kindness. While she cherished traveling with her husband, Mario Ugo, her heart was always with her family, whose needs she put before her own, making their happiness her greatest joy and pride.
Francesca will always be remembered for her selflessness, gentle spirit, quiet strength, deep faith, and the unwavering love and comfort she brought to all who knew her. Her legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
