Francesca Romualdi

Francesca Romualdi was born on August 21, 1935, in Pietrapertosa, Potenza, Italy, and passed away surrounded by her loving family on March 14, 2026, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, at the age of 90 years.

She has been reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Vincenzo, and her adored granddaughter, Anne Marie.

Beloved mother of Carmela (Rocco), Mary (Ben), Rocco (Angela), Lisa, and Enzo (Maria Rita). Cherished Nonna of Frances (Nathaniel), Nicholas (Rachel), Vincent (Camila), Angelica (Matthew), Anthony (Julia), Nicholas (Alexxandra), Francesco, Michael, and Joseph.

Bisnonna of Elouise, Anna, Domenic, Dante, and Serafina. Loving sister of Rachela, Antonietta, and Rita (Alessandro). She will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Francesca was predeceased by her brother, Nicola, her sister-in-law Gaetana, and her brothers-in-law, Francesco and Giuseppe.

Francesca was the matriarch of her family. She embraced the unknown and immigrated to a new country to start a life with her husband. She was a cornerstone of her community, and was always ready to offer a kind word or warm meal to any that crossed her path. She entertained any adventure her many children and grandchildren would talk her into, and embraced her life with a vigour far too large for her small stature. She had a boundless energy which she funneled into her physical fitness, her garden, and her faith. She worked tirelessly to provide for her family and was dedicated to all endeavors she set her mind to. She was the constant thread that tied her family tapestry together.

She will be forever loved, remembered, and missed by all of her family and friends in Toronto and in Italy.

PLEASE NOTE: On the morning of the Mass, we would ask that all friends go directly to the church allowing the family some private time prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations in Memory of Francesca Romualdi be made to the Anne Marie D’Amico Foundation.

Ora si è ricongiunta in cielo con il suo amatissimo marito Vincenzo e con la sua adorata nipote Anne Marie.

Bisnonna amorevole di Elouise, Anna, Domenic, Dante e Serafina. Cara sorella di Rachela, Antonietta e Rita (Alessandro). Mancherà profondamente anche ai suoi tanti nipoti, nipoti acquisiti e a tutta la grande famiglia che le ha voluto bene.

Francesca è stata preceduta nella morte da suo fratello Nicola, dalla cognata Gaetana e dai cognati Francesco e Giuseppe.

Francesca era il cuore e il punto fermo della sua famiglia, una vera matriarca. Con coraggio ha abbracciato l’ignoto lasciando la sua terra di origine per iniziare una nuova vita in un paese lontano e sconosciuto insieme al marito. Nella sua comunità era una presenza preziosa: attiva, sempre pronta a offrire una parola gentile, un sorriso e un abbraccio sincero o un piatto caldo a chiunque bussasse alla sua porta.

Accoglieva con entusiasmo le mille avventure in cui figli e nipoti la coinvolgevano, vivendo ogni giorno con una forza e una vitalità che sembravano infinite, e che superavano di gran lunga la sua piccola statura. Aveva un’energia inesauribile e instancabile, che riversava con passione nel prendersi cura della propria forma fisica, nel coltivare il suo giardino e nel vivere profondamente la sua fede.

Ha dedicato tutta la sua vita alla sua famiglia, lavorando con instancabile impegno e affrontando ogni cosa con cuore e determinazione. Era una presenza stabile e rassicurante per tutti, il punto di riferimento amorevole attorno al quale la sua famiglia si stringeva.

Francesca rimarrà per sempre nel cuore di tutti coloro che l’hanno amata. Sarà ricordata con immenso affetto e profondamente rimpianta dalla sua famiglia e dai suoi amici, sia a Toronto che in Italia.
