Frank, as he was lovingly known, was born on March 3, 1955 in Toronto to Lorraine Frances Topping and Edward Jackman Rolfe and was taken from us suddenly on November 15 at his home in Maple.
He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Marisa (nee Iannucci), and proud sons Andrew (Teila Whittaker) and Evan (Ragan Sanders). Brother to Louise and Eileen (Boris Mokorich). Beloved son-in-law to Clelia and Settimio Iannucci. Cherished Brother-In-Law to Frank (Eliana), Mario (Genny), and Adriano (Grace). Adored uncle to Nina (Dave), Amy (Ken), Laura, Ivan, Emma, Matthew (Nicole), Amanda (Afshin), Christina (Alex), Alessandra (Anto), Matthew, and Serena. He will also be remembered as a Great Uncle to Christian, Vanessa, Dante, Jack and Malcolm.
Frank studied to become a Youth Worker at Humber College and worked for Peel Children's Aid (where he would meet Marisa) and later at the Hospital For Sick Children. While a career change later in life would see Frank go back to school and get his Master Electrician License, Frank was the embodiment of the handy man. Whether helping friends and family with odd jobs around their house, or having Marisa find him a new wall to paint, Frank was always willing to lend a hand wherever and whenever he was needed - and if he was ever tasked with a job that he hadn't done before, he always found a way to figure it out.
A passionate outdoorsman, Frank always found peace up north, whether at his family cottage in Torrance, the cottages of dear friends in Port Hope and Bracebridge or camping in the backwoods of Algonquin Park. Few things brought him more calm than setting out on a still lake with his canoe.
With a laugh that could fill any room, Frank loved a good joke, particularly at inappropriate times. He relished moments of levity in otherwise serious situations and he took great pleasure in cracking jokes with his sons, often at the expense of his loving wife.
Frank brought warmth and light to everyone he knew and his absence will be felt.
Given the restrictions, the family will be planning a Celebration of Life in the Spring to give Frank a proper send off, the way that he would want it.
