Fred is one heck of an act to follow. He was a blessing in our lives. Our thoughts are with you Sharon. Kathy and I have made a donation in Fred's name to Médecins Sans Frontières. While we cannot do anything to make the present better, we can use Fred's memory to create a better future.

I will remember all the fun conversations I had with Fred at Gabbys.  It's hard to believe he won't be there for another one.

What great friend we have lost. From the fights to cigar nights to boardrooms and pseudo courtrooms, I was honoured to have Fred by my side.

Fred, it's so hard to believe that you are gone.  You visited us such a short time ago, your distinctive laugh I heard coming up the hallway.  We will miss you. On behalf of all your friends in the Utilities Division, at the University of Toronto, our sincerest condolences to your family.

Fred you will be missed by all your co-workers and Union brothers you were a friend and infuence on all our lifes,rest in peace Brother Newey.

He influenced my life.

Fred gave me the guidance and strength and help when I needed it badly as a newbie in UTM.Will really miss his calm reassuring and steady voice. My respects to him and condolences to his family.

Fred was a great co-worker and a really good person. My sincere condolences to his family, Rest in peace, Fred.

Fred's wisdom, keen sense of humour and out look on life  will be truly missed.

 Fred and I go way back in time. Fred most certainly was an adventuresome person, had a zest for life and loved people.  I look back with  fond memories in my friendship with Fred. a Great Friend to be around. Fred, untill we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand. Sharon was his true blessing, wife and friend.

Fred And I shared a love of History. I'll miss those afternoon discussions over a few. His sense of humour, natty attire, and friendship will be greatly missed. The Triple Crown races will never be the same!

When Fred was at Gabby's, the place had a special atmosphere.  He always had a warm welcome and a genuine hug for us "buddies".  Knowing he was ill has impacted me, and knowing he is gone... it's a big loss.  I hope so much that Sharon finds the best possible way into the future, knowing she was loved by a great man.

The world is truly a bit dimmer without the big soul of bon vivant Fred. Luckily we still have his spirited partner Sharon. I look forward to sharing our Fred reflections with some of his many friends.

I'm in NC and will be unable to attend the service. Fred's laughter and unfailing good humour will always be remembered. God bless Sharon.
