Gemma Osti (Ianes), beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, peacefully passed after a long battle with Alzheimer's on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, in her own home of 57 years. She was born on July 3rd, 1932, to Fortunato and Elena in the small village of Castelfondo, Trento, Italy. Gemma was 1 of 9 siblings and devoted her life to her family. She immigrated to Canada in the early 60's with her husband Livio and continued her devotion to family by raising her three children.
Gemma is now reunited with her beloved Livio and her many siblings. Proud mother to Vivian (Tony), Marco, and Miriam (Monte). Beloved Nonna to Kayla (Will), Kyle, Olivia, Cristian, Erica and Giulia. May she be the guardian angel to her great-granddaughter Everly.
Gemma also made time for her favourite hobbies, including her social circle at the Trentini Club, gardening, baking, knitting, playing bingo, and making the best polenta.
The family would like to express gratitude to a team of caregivers, nurses, PSW staff, and the doctors caring for our mother. Gemma was blessed to have an amazing caregiver in Rachael, who supported her until the end.
