Gerald is survived by his beloved wife of 22 years, Mary Ann Elizabeth Patriquin Schamerhorn.
He attended the W. Ross Macdonald school for the blind in Brantford Ontario. Gerald was a pillar of his community, known for his generosity, kindness, and dedication to helping others. He was the founder of a local bread drop-in program, which provided food and support to residents of his building and the surrounding area. His passion for service and his tireless efforts made a lasting impact on the lives of so many.
He was also known for his warm heart and sharp sense of humour always finding a way to bring joy and laughter into any room he entered. He was also known for his cooking. He loved cooking anything and everything. People loved his cookies. Gerald truly made the world around him a better place, and his memory will live on in the countless lives he touched.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 30, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Giffen-Mack & Trull Funeral Home 2570 Danforth Avenue., Toronto, Ontario, M4C1L3
A funeral service will follow immediately at 1:00 p.m. at the same location.
Gerald will be deeply missed and forever remembered by family, friends, and the community he served so faithfully.
