Giulio Cologna

Giulio was a loving man and married to Maria (Cologna) for 65 years. Beloved father of Susan (Zepp), Anita (Walter) and Yole. Proud grandfather of Claudia (Justin), Andy (Yana), Sabrina (Michael) and Nicholas (Analisa). Devoted Bisnonno to Brody and Logan. He will be remembered by his brothers Rodolfo (Valentina) in Italy and Sandro (Giovanna) in Canada. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Giulio was born in Castelfondo, Trento Italy. He was the third of six children. He emigrated to Canada in 1957 trying to make a life for himself by working many different jobs. In 1959 he wrote to his love Maria also from Castelfondo to get married and move to Canada. They were married on July 11, 1959 and he organized the whole wedding. Giulio was a caring, quiet and hardworking man. He had many interests like hunting in his early years, making wine, homemade sausages, carpentry and playing cards with friends at his cottage in Woodland Beach. He provided for his growing family by working 2 jobs. His last job was working for the Toronto Catholic School Board as a Head Caretaker for 28 years.

His loss to his family and friends is significant and can’t be explained in words. He will be deeply missed and his memory will live in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

Family and friends may visit the Delmoro Funeral Home, 61 Beverly Dr., (near Wilson and Jane on February 7, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8.

The Funeral Mass will be on Saturday February 8, 2025 at 9:30 am at St. Jane Frances Catholic Church, 2747 Jane St. Toronto, PLEASE NOTE: On the morning of the Mass, we would ask that all friends go directly to the church allowing the private time prior to the service.

Entombment to be followed at Beechwood Cemetery, 7241 Jane St, Vaughan in the Mausoleum of the Angels.

In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations in Memory of Giulio Cologna be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Toronto.
