Harold Clifton Coulthrust

Harold Clifton Coulthrust a.k.a. “shoes” was born in Carrington Village, St Michaels Barbados to the late Samuel Parris and Katurah Coulthrust.

He died peacefully after a brief illness in hospital. Harold is survived by his loving wife Valarie of 56 years and his children: Yvette Cumberbatch-Chase, Gail Cumberbatch (QEH), Marcia Cooke, adopted daughter Marilyn Coulthrust-Rollins (Stephen Rollins)- son in law and brother-in-law of retired Sergeant of the Royal Barbados Police Force, Clinton Nurse.

Adorable grandchildren: Romel and Tamita Chase, Simone Cumberbatch, Marlon and Troy Lawrence-Coulthrust. Shawntelle Pilgrim and Kimberly Straughn. Great-grandfather of Larrisa Gill and Zendaya Kirton, Malik, Mekhi, Kayana and Nayla, Josiah Judah Erica- Grace and Jehu Pilgrim. Uncle of Yvette White and the White family of Tweedside Road, St. Michael, Barbados.

Harold was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Ronald, Arthur, and Gabriel Coulthrust. Marjorie Coulthrust, Florence Clarke and Justin White and his nephew in crime Tyrone Nurse and best friend Belfield Alleyne.

Harold would be remembered by his many friends for his love of Cricket, Hockey, Boxing (because of Muhammad Ali) a good political discussion, and the Saturday evening get together at the Ceramic store.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to all who supported then during this difficult time, made calls and visits to his wife. Thanks also going out to the staff at Scarborough General Hospital, especially the doctors and nurses on the Palliative unit.

The viewing for Harold will take place at Jerrett Funeral Home (660 Kennedy Road, Scarborough, ON M1K 2B5) on Friday, January 20, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. and the Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. in the Jerrett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial at Pine Hills Cemetery (625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, ON) to follow.
