Helga Tesmar was born on October 5, 1938 in Birkwitz, Germany, surviving through World War II, where she saw and lived through things that no child should endure. Helga was on her own by the age of 15. She travelled to London to be a nanny, where during this time she continued her education and learned English.
Eventually, Helga returned to Germany and began her career in hospitality. It was at this time that she married the love of her life and had her first child.
In 1964, Helga immigrated to Canada and welcomed her second child, shortly thereafter.
Helga was very creative and enjoyed sewing and knitting. She liked to keep busy and was always moving forward. Later, Helga worked as a bookkeeper and then continued her education once more by attending night classes.
Years later, her hard work paid off, and she got her dream home in Wasaga Beach. Unfortunately, fate was cruel, robbing her of her eyesight and then came the diagnosis of Dementia.
She endured many of life’s obstacles and she will be forever remembered, loved and missed by all of her family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in Memory of Helga Tesmar be made to: The Seeing Eye or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Rest in Peace Now, Mom.
