Your hug meant the World
a poem by Tamsen Butler
Nobody else held me so tight
Or made me feel so right
No one’s eyes shined so bright with love
As my mom
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Holly Victoria Allen, of Toronto on Tuesday, June 2, 2021 at Michael Garron Hospital at the age of 55.
Holly will be lovingly remembered by her Beloved husband of 26 years, Joe Bogdan; Loving mother of Alex, Nicole and Reid; brother Edward (Ted) and sister Saige; mother Helen; sister-in-law Lisa and Susan; brother-in-law Jason and numerous other family members. Holly was predeceased by her father George Allen. Holly’s greatest love was her family.
Holly was born in London Ontario but had the opportunity to live in 6 provinces growing up.
She earned a B.Sc. from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. Holly was a trailblazer and had an entrepreneurial spirit. After having successful careers at GE Capital, Brookfield, and as a partner at PwC, she founded her own capital investment company, Greypoint Capital. Her passing will be felt by her colleagues and many in the business community.
Holly had a great many close friends that she cherished, many friendships went back decades. She had a love for travel and was always planning the next girl’s trip. Her friendships are a testament to the giving, warm person she was.
A private family service will take place later this year. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Holly’s honour would be appreciated.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Michael Garron Hospital for their care and compassion.
Her family wishes her peace and rest. We are eternally thankful for Holly Victoria Allen. Forever alive in our love and memories of her.
