Uncle Ian, you were 1 in a million.  I have some fab memories of my time in Canada. Walking down those stairs into a pub!, wow to a kiddie of 9, I couldn't get my head around the fact that you only needed to pop down stairs to go for a beer, and you had the biggest TV I had ever seen, was amazing watching movies on it.  Watching the video that has been made in your honour, made me laugh and cry.  Your smile, so cheeky, but so full of love.  Tomorrow I will be thinking about your wonderful family, and all they will be going through at this very sad time.  We will say our own goodbye's over the pond tomorrow, with a small get together of your British family.

My fondest memory of Ian was when I took him, Pat and Michael to a Toronto Maple Leafs game. I had told Brian Burke that Ian was the biggest fan ever. I told him how he would prepare for a game - snacks, beer, game-day sweater. Burkie promptly gave me his 4 seats for a game. Ian was like a kid in a candy store sitting in great seats watching the team he loved. It was a great night listening to Ian and Pat complain about the team even though they were winning. What a night!! Ian I want to thank you for accepting me into the family. To me you were not only Carol's uncle, you were a friend and my Poppie as well. I will miss you.

Many people come and go through a person's life but to have an Uncle who has been so close and wonderful my entire life is certainly a blessing!  There are far too many things to list that I will miss about you, but I know you will always be watching over us!  Love and miss you Uncle Ian, R.I.P. !
