Today again I remember cousin Ian. Yesterday I rode the old 82 Gold Wing to Gander to visit Ian's father's grave at the Commonwealth site then did the "Newfie Stomp" ride in Ian's honour, Gander Bay to Lewisporte to GFW.

Two years later and I still think about you often, Ian. You had a tremendous impact on my life and I’m grateful for that on a daily basis. I wish so much that my children could have met you, but they will hear all the best stories instead. (My second child, born after your passing, even has your name incorporated into hers to honour your memory.) Love and miss you. Thank you for everything. ❤️

Memories of cousin Ian still ride by from time to time! Today I was visiting his dad's grave in Gander applying a fresh layer of crushed red stone. I could hear their voices in my mind, exchanging tales of a humourous tone.

Today I write this message in memory of my cousin Ian, a year since his passing. Yesterday in his memory I took my old Gold Wing for a run and did the same route, same bike, we did with Ian the last visit he made here years ago (NL) on his Harley, GFW-Gander- Gander Bay -Lewisporte - GFW. Included a visit to his father's grave in Gander. I think Ian really enjoyed touring the country with the freedom of two cylinders two wheels and a backpack on a luggage rack! He was a great guy who could entertain for hours with stories of his life and the many places visited. A naturally calming person. Always remembered!

I was sorry to hear of Rev. Ian’s passing.  Back in 2009 he led the service for us for my Dad and eased the pain greatly during a difficult time.  We asked him to lead us through Mom’s passing a few years after that, and my cousin’s passing a few years ago.  What a wonderful, caring, and interesting man he was.  My partner rides a Harley and they had a few great discussions about riding although I know he gave that up a while back.   Rev. Ian mentioned a great saying he read on a gravestone and I can think of no better tribute for him…’I have lived!’.

Please accept my late condolences. I have recently learned about Ian's passing. I was fortunate to befriend Ian while working at Jerrett's. Often before a service we would share laughter, great stories and practice speaking Spanish. Ian always emitted such positive energy, and his smile was like no other.  When my Grandmother passed in 2018, the words of comfort he spoke to me with his calm and distinct voice became forever etched in my mind. I will forever carry Ian in my heart. 





I'm so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. Ian was such a Big personality with a heart of gold. I have such pleasant memories of Ian when we were at IJ Samson and Bishop's College. He was always such fun to be around. 
That wonderful smile and great laugh. I hadn't been in touch with Ian for decades but about 15 years ago we were in contact and we chatted and laughed without missing a beat. I could still feel the warmth of his great personality coming through.  God bless.

Please accept our condolences on Ian's passing. I remember him from school and from visits to Holiday Hill with Dawn and others, where he graciously shared his good humour and BB gun. The last time I saw him was when he was stationed in Hermitage, and he still had a shotgun behind his study door for hunting on his walk on the hills. He was always of good humour and I'm sure helped many people through his work with the church.

Scott, I was saddened to hear of Ian’s passing. Ian came to the Church of the Ascension in the late 70’s. His youthful direction and approach resulted in my wanting to attend church more often. His love of music was a common bond for myself and my friends. I was part of a young rock band and Ian welcomed and invited us to participate in services and joined in on rehearsals to sometimes play songs other than Christian.  We thought that was so cool. And to see he rode a Harley. I have spoken of those times often and fondly. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Ian was my parents’ rector at St. Jude’s, a friend and favourite dinner companion, and our leader on Craig Travel tours to Tibet and Ireland. We shall miss his easy laugh and caring ways. Sympathies to Scott and Ian’s family.

As teenagers, at the Church of the Ascension in Mount Pearl, NL, we were blessed to have Ian as our priest. He was young, vibrant, kind and had the best smile. It's been a long time, and hearing this news brings memories flooding forth. Let them be our treasure. Condolences to all those who will miss him.

Ian was a dear friend during our youth at the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin in St. John’s, NL.   While there have been many years since we communicated, the lovely memories are very vivid. I remember Ian as the head altar boy at The Church of St. Mary the virgin  in St. John's Newfoundland.  He was always kind and thoughtful and was a good teacher to those of us who also served on the altar. He had the special privilege of playing the organ there whenever he wanted as his musical skill was recognized early.  We associated in the teenage youth group and he was always full of fun and intelligent.  May light perpetual shine upon him.

We knew Ian from his days in our home parish of St. Saviours in Hermitage, Newfoundland and visited him at his various churches in Toronto when we lived there. He baptized our first child, Robert, in Toronto and Robert's grandparents in Hermitage were so happy that Rev. Noseworthy did so. He was dearly loved in Hermitage and an all-round fine person. Ember Ian as a fine person and priest. Knew him while I worked at Church House in Toronto.

Ian had this quality of putting you at ease as soon as you met him. He was a gentle soul, genuine and kind and was great company. I'm blessed to have known him and will miss him. My deepest condolences to Scott and his family.

It was always such a joy to see Ian when he would come home for a visit. He had an amazing sense of humor, and I was always astonished at how he seemed to know people in every corner of the province. It seemed as though, whenever we would mention a name, he had some connection with the family - either through his ministry or his travels. Rest in peace, cousin Ian.  

I was so sad to learn of the passing of Ian.  He had an infectious smile and loving heart. Such a kind person.  My condolences to his husband and all the family.  Ian will be greatly missed. 

I am a close friend of Ian's husband Scott for almost 40 years.  When I first met Ian at his home I was incredibly happy to feel the genuine love, transparency and openness Ian so effortlessly exuded. Scott always extended the same energy, smile and love, so I was ecstatic that they found one another.
Ian accepted me as a friend automatically and we spent some time on my first and subsequent visits talking about Newfie origins and his brilliant eye for photography. Sitting with Ian and learning of the stories, people and of his experiences photo by photo and country by country will always be my cherished memory of Ian. Love and memory will always be shared with Scott of the beautiful, humourous human and  husband Ian will for ever be

Cousin Ian and his Harley when he visited central NL one summer! Lot of fun that day with Karen, "da missus" and myself doing the Gander / Twillingate area.

Nothing but smiles after that giant margarita at our favourite Puerto Vallarta restaurant 

 Cruising Cozumel with Uncle Ian & Uncle Scott. It didn’t take long for our kids to adopt Ian as their uncle. Always engaging in conversations with them, telling them stories of his adventures and his daily Spanish lessons.

For many years we would coordinate our holidays to meet Scott & Ian in Mexico for some family time. So many great memories of vacationing with Ian, we’ll forever cherish our time together in our favourite sunny destination.

Ian was such a light—full of laughter and love! I remember him from my time at Trinity College and the Diocese of Toronto and through our joint love for my son’s godfather David Erb. Ian lit up a room when he entered it and shone Christ’s light through his ministry. I send my love to Ian’s husband Scott and to all his family. 

I was so happy when Scott announced that he and Ian were getting married and saddened when Ian's health began to deteriorate so soon into their marriage. As so many others have noted here, Ian was a genuinely kind and gentle soul. His warm smile and soothing personality are a loss for everyone, but especially Scott. I pray that memories of Ian will soothe us all.

Sincere condolences to Ian’s family and friends. The Class of 8T1 Trinity College will miss him. He was an engaged leader and friend to students and in later years married quite a number of us! 

We were in seminary together..close for many years..so very sorry to hear of his death.  Rest in pease my friend.

I refer to Ian as “my childhood hero”. I grew up as a member of his parish, first at Church of the Epiphany and then at Church of St. Jude Wexford. He was a dear friend to my parents and as I got older, became a dear friend to me too. He was there for me through difficult times in my life, taking time to counsel me spiritually when I was struggling, but he was also a part of just about every family celebration, my favourite being when he officiated my wedding in 2017. These celebrations were even more special when Scott came into our lives because we never saw Ian happier. Ian was one of the kindest, most giving, and most charismatic people I’ve ever met. He was a friend to all and you just felt so special to be around him. The loss of Ian feels like a loss for the whole world because of the countless lives he impacted, but I (like many I’m sure) will be forever grateful to Ian for instilling the religious and spiritual foundations and principles present in our lives today. Ian’s memory will live on through my love for God and I can’t really think of anything more powerful than that. My condolences to all affected by this loss, specifically Scott and Ian’s family. I’m so, so sorry.

I’m very sad to hear the passing of such a wonderful person. I had the great fortune of spending a lot of time with him when he did services at our funeral home. He was a kind, and compassionate man, but had such a great sense of humour. He also did my neighbours funeral service, and the family were absolutely delighted.  I haven’t spoken to Rev Noseworthy in years, but he’s never been forgotten.

Ian and I first crossed paths as students at Trinity College.
He was able to keep us laughing as he told story after story of his adventures in Newfoundland as a student preparing for ordained ministry.
Our paths crossed again when he was the priest at the Church of the Epiphany, Scarborough, and I had another parish there. I will always remember that he was one of the first people, let alone clergy, who tried to extol the need for we clergy to start using computers (Apple being his favourite).
Our paths crossed yet again when I did an interim at St. Nicholas, where he was an honorary assistant, as well as a member of the choir.
He was loved by many in the parish and still had the gift of making people chuckle and laugh.
My condolences to his husband, as well as his family.

My sympathy to Ian's family and friends. I knew Ian briefly as a parishioner at St. Thomas Huron Street in the 80's. I later went on to become a priest and was ordained in 2001. I will always fondly recall Ian's friendliness and sense of humour which helped me as I entered the parish in 1985. 

To Ian's family:  I knew Rev. Ian from my time at  Giffen-Mack Chapel in Toronto.  Thank You Ian for your Love, Compassion and friendship to all those whom you helped during the worst time in their lives.  The death of a family member.  
Ian came to visit me in Hospital to encourage me when I was so very sick, Thank you Ian!

Cousin Ian was a gentle soul. About 10 years ago he and Dawn visited us in Bridgewater and he captivated us with his experiences of the Camino de Santiago.  He inspired me in such a manner that a few years later Royce and I backpacked our own Camino Portuguese.... a life altering experience that happened all because of Ian.  He set the fire and I am eternally grateful.

Cousin Ian will surely be missed! A gentleman and caring person indeed. We enjoyed his Harley visits to central Newfoundland with his best biker buddy Karen. The travel stories would keep us entertained for hours. I would tease Ian about how loud his Harley sounded and he would jokingly reply that it kept the moose from the road as he approached! A great man to all that knew him!

Ian was our neighbour in Birchcliff.  Gerald and I knew him briefly and valued his friendship.  We became friends on first meeting.  Many other friends of Ian probably have had the same experience. He was a lovely man, dear, caring and brave. We know he had many friends and relatives, and sadly leaves behind his beloved partner, Scott.  Ian will be very much missed.  Our thoughts are with Scott at this difficult time.
