Remembering our terrific Neighbour. We miss you in the ‘hood. Love always to your family .

I meet Jimmy when my good friends The Parker's moved in next store. As somone that spent a lot of time at The Parker's, I would often see Jimmy on his porch watching the world go by. Gradually I was invited to the porch and would share a cold one with Jimmy and talk and laugh. His love for life was infectious and I will hold my memories with Jimmy and our time on the porch close to my heart. RIP Jimmy, you will be missed. Cassandra

I would just like to express my sincere condolences to the family of Jimmy Dale, a colleague,  friend, brother Firefighter who many including myself looked up to as a role model on and off the job. 
I had the privilege to work with both Jim and his son Rickie and remember them both fondly. 
RIP Brother Dale.....RIP


Growing up next door to Jimmy, I have so many wonderful memories of him. He was often on the porch when we were coming home and would ask about our day, or what was new. Most times he would bring us inside to come pick a creamsicle from the freezer downstairs. And on halloween he always saved a full size chocolate bar and a pop for us. Ryla and I used to mow his lawn as per our parents orders and if he ever caught us doing it he would come out and sneak us a $5 bill. No matter how much we protested. 
When Jimmy and Flo moved to the building on a Broadview, we were so sad to lose them as neighbours. But whenever we would go visit, when we were leaving, Jimmy would stand on the balcony and wait until he could see us and then wave goodbye until we were out of sight. I can picture him now waving goodbye to us all. He will be sorely missed. 
I am sending all my love to the whole family.

It was a lovely service with so many wonderful memories, Jim has  touched so many lives, including ours...we always had so much fun visiting Rickie and Cheryl and Jim would always make a point of being there, and always had many laughs together. If we only knew the bubble gum story then lol..
R.I.P Jimmy- It was a pleasure always to spend time with you and thanks for the many laughs.

To Dear Florence and the Dale and Loch families.

Our deepest sympathies at the loss of your husband, father and grandfather. I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Jim for over two decades. The warmth and pride for his family, his wit, charm, sense of humour and his diligent allegiance to the Toronto Maple Leaf's were always at hand and evident.

His marriage to Florence and the combination of two families remains a legendary story.

The patriarch of the family will be sorrowfully missed by all. respectfully.

Jimmy was a wonderful neighbour. We both hated weeds so we shared a weed-eater!  He always had a story to tell and smile to share. We missed them when they moved from our street but knew the new place would be easier to manage.  Bon voyage, Jimmy.  We will cherish the memories.

It has been a privilege and a pleasure to work with both Jim and Rick. The best of comrades, and great firefighters. Jim always looked after the new folks on the job. I'm lucky to have known him.

I have so many wonderful memories, afternoons spent on Jimmy's porch watching the world go by. Or asking the girls why they didn't want supper only to hear the reply, "but we are full, we were just at Jimmy's having orange creamsicles!"  The girls were always spoiled with special Halloween goodie bags made just for them. The amazing guidance and inspiration he gave to Dominic when he wanted to become a firefighter.  Jimmy was one of a kind, a true gem and will be dearly missed.  Much love to all the Dale family Zilla, Ryla and Brenna 

When I started the TFD in 1971, Jimmy was on B2 shift at Station 7.  He was always one of the boys, even though he was a Captain, and a damn good one. I could not count the days I came to work to find him sitting in the kitchen at 6:30am, smoking a cigarette and drinking a coffee. Filthy from working all night at a another fire, from there to the shower, then home to do it all over again.
In later days when I was a Captain there, I had the privilege of having Ricky on my truck, every day was an adventure, I loved every  moment.  I treasure my memories.

A very happy day when Rickie and I got married

When I was a teenager I used to carry a picture of Uncle Jimmy in my wallet and told all my girlfriends that this gorgeous man was my "boyfriend".  From the time I was a little girl he was always my favourite Uncle.  He was a prince of a man, always there to lend a helping hand. He will be sorely missed by one and all.  Goodbye to one of the finest men I ever knew.
