James Griffith

Peacefully in his 88th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Joanne Griffith for 63 years. Predeceased by brother, Herbert, and sisters, Hilda Humphrey and Ida Paterson. Dear father of Laura (Jack Gillis) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Michael (Kim Morison) of Toronto, Ontario. Loving grandfather of Emma, James, Sarah, Aaron and Rachel. Dear brother in law of Dana Mills (Peter) of Barrie, Ontario. Also survived by a niece and several nephews and their families. Jim served a 3 year stint in the RCA. He became a Chartered Accountant and then spent several years in industry. This was followed by over 20 years in health administration. He was the director of the Distress Centre. Jim enjoyed life and his family and after retirement from Women's College Hospital, he had time for his garden and particularly bird watching and the opportunity to be close to nature. Now he wishes all of his friends and acquaintances “Farewell”. At Jim’s request, a quiet, private family service will be held with cremation and interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto. Memorial contributions to The Canadian Wildlife Federation or Moorlands would be gratefully acknowledged.
