To Kiera Henderson and young Andrew, 

we were just informed of the calling home to our Lord, of Marc. 

We knew March from 2017 as Our Investment Counselor. 

Not to downplay his professional approach to ur investments, what was always touching for us, on his regular visits to our home. That he would share the joy of family and the birth of Andrew. He was always bringing photographs and anecdotes of Andrew's gowth. His dedication to family, his profession was exemplary.

He knew our family, our 4 children, that I was retired from the financial services after 40 years, and a volunteer ordained minister for Roman Catholic Diocese of Hamilton (a Deacon). Joan being a stay at home Mum, that brought up our 4 now adult children. He took the time to ask about them.

We were blessed that Kiera and Andrew, you shared Marc with us in this world. Marc made it a better place to be in, especially during the time of Covid.

Be assured both of you are accompanied in our daily prayers.

I’m truly heartbroken to hear of Marc’s passing. While I’d only known Marc for a short time, seeing the love he showed for Drew and the love him and Kiera shared was something truly special.

I was very saddened to learn of Jean-Marc's passing. We had exchanged messages around Christmas when I learned of his condition. I was hopeful that in 2024 we would get to meet up again, laugh, and make jokes. I met Jean-Marc through James (Wojciech) when I relocated to Toronto.

When I met him, the way the two of them shared their story of meeting was one for the books. When they got together, there was a childish spark that took over, taking them back to their schoolyard days.

Jean-Marc was always a great guy who was always smiling, well-spoken, and educated. My condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace, buddy. Until we meet again.

I was so sorry to read about Marc's passing through a LinkedIn post. I had the opportunity to engage him several years ago in some volunteer activities in creating exam content for financial services exams. His knowledge and skill were second-to-none, and his passion for his work was more than obvious. I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with him and get to know him, and offer my sincere condolences to his friends and family.

I only knew Marc for a very brief time as his home care nurse but he was a very strong, courageous and very funny.  Even when he was having a bad day he would get me laughing.  A little backwards given my profession as I’m the one who is supposed to get him laughing. I was so very honoured to be a part of his life even for the short time i did. I will be forever changed for the better just knowing him. Thank you to all his family for sharing their husband and son with us as it was a joy to know him. Forever grateful. Heather the nurse❤️

Dave and I (Ann) Percival want to express our sincere sadness and sympathy that Bruce and Marlene have had to say goodbye to one of their 3 beautiful sons.  We didn’t personally know Jean-Marc that well but from the visits with Bruce and Marlene that we saw him, he was such a very friendly young man and a wonderful father to Andrew. You were a great uncle to my kids and a very kind brother-in-law.  Gone too soon and will be missed.  My deepest condolences to your parents, son, brothers and partner. Watch over your family JM, may you rest in peace.  Kim

Marc and I only knew one another for a few years, but in the short time we did, we grew close through our mutual love of economics/markets. 

We spoke almost daily and every conversation we had always left me a little bit wiser and usually with a smile on my face. 

He was such a beautiful soul that was always a joy to be around. In the last year, we bonded over our mutual experiences with cancer. 

I made him a pledge to message him daily during his battle to help keep his spirits bright - sort of like Angelo Dundee standing in Muhammad Ali’s corner pushing him to finish his opponent. We’d exchange a few words here and there and I always left it off on a positive note and encouraged him to have hope for the future. 

Our conversations, though often brief over the last few months, always left me with a much greater appreciation for my own life. 

A quote I heard when I was in my own battle with cancer was: “health is a crown that only the sick can see”. This certainty entered my mind frequently and I wondered why such terrible fates could befall such wonderful people. 

When Marc was in one of his many stays at the hospital, we spoke and he told me he was having a hard time sleeping, which inspired me to write this short song on the piano for him. 

He was taken from us far too soon and for that I am deeply saddened, but I believe that the best way we can honour our dear friend is to live our best lives and always try and do better for one another, just as Marc did for all of us.

Words cannot describe the sadness and loss we are all feeling!  Your smile lit up every room you walked in!  Your EMBA family will always love you. ..forever in our hearts Marky Marc!! 💕

I am so deeply sorry for the loss of your beloved son. May his life continue to shine in his son, Andrew. No parent should ever have to experience the pain of losing a child. My heart aches for you, and I hope you find strength in the love and support surrounding you.

I worked with Jean-Marc briefly in Ottawa with his brother Shawn in the insurance and investments business.  Shawn cared deeply for his brother.  I have difficulty comprehending the sadness of losing a brother, son, father or spouse.  My sincerest condolences to the family that will carry on your legacy.   May you rest in eternal peace.  Ted.

I was privileged to your light the last 13 years.  Your brilliant mind and captivating personality drew everyone in.  You were a mentor, a friend, a brother.  I will miss you terribly and think of you always. RIP my brother.

Marc was an incredible mentor and friend, and I feel privileged to have had the chance to work alongside him for many years. Marc was a leader in everything he did and was always first to share praise for his team during the good times and stand up for us during the difficult ones. His sense of humor, positive spirit, empathy, and friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Please accept my deepest condolences in this difficult time. Marc’s untimely passing has been a shock and I cannot imagine not being able to speak to him and hear his laughter. Even though I’ve known Marc for a few years, he has left a lasting memory and I will miss him.

Kiera, Drew and family, my heart goes out to you, I am so sorry for your loss.  

There are no words to express the loss of Marc, he was truly one of a kind; generous, caring, brilliant and a wonderful friend for over 20 years.  I will miss him, his support, our great life conversations, and most of all his wonderful sense of humor and positivity.
