Joan May Florence Chapin

June 1, 1937 - February 21, 2026

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Joan May Florence Chapin, née Foster, on February 21, 2026, at the age of 88.

Joan will be remembered for her lovely smile — the kind that instantly made you feel safe, welcome, and cared for. She had a special gift for remembering the little details about everyone’s life, always asking the right question, always making sure no one felt overlooked. Her warmth made her home a place where people gathered, laughed, and felt they belonged.

She was a devoted and wonderful mother to Nancy, Christine (Joseph), and Josie (Michael), and grandmother to Sarah, Emily, Matthew, Kathryn and Olivia and great-grandmother to Frederyck, Christopher, Amelia, Liam, Ryver and Vaida, bringing joy, humor, and gentle wisdom to the youngest members of her family. Her sense of humor could lighten any moment, and her laughter was a comfort to those who knew her best.

A true homemaker in every sense, Joan took pride in creating a home filled with love, comfort, and good company. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs, delighting in their companionship and never hesitating to offer them affection.

She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her kindness, her laughter, and the memory of her beautiful smile. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in all of us.

Visitation will be held at Jerrett Funeral Homes, located at 660 Kennedy Road, Toronto, Ontario, M1K2B5, on February 26, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at Jerrett Funeral Homes on February 27, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

The Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 2700 Kingston Rd, Toronto, Ontario, M1M 1M5, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
