Doug Taylor was one of my most beloved teachers. What a year in Grade Six with him! Such a rich class. He had SO many things to keep us interested! We had a terrarium. We had an aquarium (my favourite). He introduced us to classical music: The 1812 Overture, Gilbert and Sullivan. What a fantastic teacher he was, so personable, and a great sense of humour. "Hasten Jason, fetch the basin!" What a great legacy he has left behind to this student and I know many others. Rest in Peace dear Doug Taylor!

I became acquainted with Doug Taylor through Metropolitan United Church. We were both interested in the history of Toronto and I enjoyed reading one of his novels as well as indulging in the lovely photo books he created around memories of various buildings in Toronto. He was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and although we were not close, I feel diminished by his absence on earth. (See John Donne's "No Man is an Island")

My sincere condolences on Doug's passing to his partner Ivan and Doug's family. I met Doug at Metropolitan United Church. We shared a love of music and art, among other interests. I spoke with Doug daily after he was transferred to Bridgepoint. He was a lovely man, a wonderful conversationalist. I will miss him and our conversations. May your memories bring comfort.
