Joseph William Zink

Joe was an inspirational father with a loving spirit and a great sense of humor. On Tuesday May 29, 2012 he passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side. Joe had a fulfilling 87 years, 61 of which he was blessed to spend with Frances, who passed away last year. Joe built a wonderful life for Fran, their four children, and seven grandchildren. He is survived by a sister, Pauline Vessa of Italy. Joe was born in Moncton, NB and attended St. Francis Xavier University, followed by University of Toronto and then moved to Montreal to work for Shell Canada. There he met Frances and they eventually settled in Toronto, spending summers in Muskoka and winters in Florida. Joe had a curiosity for all things and a love of learning that kept him young. We are very grateful to Dr. Eugenie Tjan and Thornbrook for the wonderful care they gave Joe over the last year. Friends may call at the TRULL “NORTH TORONTO” FUNERAL HOME, 2704 Yonge St. (south of Lawrence Ave.) on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at BLESSED SACRAMENT CATHOLIC CHURCH (On Yonge Street south of Lawrence Ave.) at 11:00 o’clock. Burial to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
