Keith, also fondly known as “Meck” was born to Julius and Gladys(Veda) Hopkin on March 9th, 1948,in St. Georges Grenada. He was the youngest of 6 siblings. From a young age Keith worked very well with his hands and took very quickly to carpentry and construction work, this was his career until he retired at the age of 70. With the help of his sister Joyce and her husband Calwyn, Keith migrated to Canada in the 1980’s. He worked hard and saved up to eventually sponsor his family to join him in Canada. Keith is survived by his wife Audrey and their 6 children, Terrance, Keren, Veron, Kerlin, Kent, and Prudence; also by his 4 sons in-law, 1 daughter in-law, his 5 grandsons and 7 granddaughters. Keith is also survived by his sister Joyce and her spouse Calwyn Johnson, along with many nieces and nephews. Keith was a very simple and unassuming man, he loved the simple things in life, like relaxing and watching Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right or Family Feud. He never met a sport that he didn’t like to watch, from basketball to curling, but his favorite was definitely baseball. Keith absolutely loved his grandchildren, who always went home richer than they came after visiting him as he would always slip them a little cash to “hold.” Keith loved a good mango, toblerone chocolate and roasted peanuts in the shell. He loved to laugh and make others laugh with his unique anecdotes and stories of “back home in Grenada.” He will be greatly missed by all those who loved and cherished him.
