It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Laurel Chin. She was born on March 28, 1935, and peacefully departed from this world on July 18, 2023. Laurel is now reunited with her late husband, Eustace Chin, in eternal rest.
Laurel was a loving and devoted mother to her children Charmaine (Frank), Angela (Steven), and David (Martina). She also took immense joy in being a grandmother to Simone, Lee, and Conor, cherishing every moment spent with them.
Throughout her last years, Laurel showed unwavering strength and resilience as she battled cancer for over a decade and bravely faced the challenges of Parkinson's disease. Her courage in the face of adversity was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Laurel's sense of humour and quick wit brightened the lives of everyone around her. Her laughter was infectious, and the memories of those joyful moments will forever echo in our hearts.
To honour Laurel's memory, a memorial gathering will be held on Monday, August 28, 2023, from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Giffen-Mack Funeral Home, located at 2570 Danforth Ave., Toronto. Following the memorial gathering, an inurnment will take place at St. John's Norway Cemetery, located at 256 Kingston Road, Toronto.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Laurel's name to the Princess Margaret hospital or to the Parkinson’s Canada, as these were causes dear to her heart.
Laurel's memory will forever live on in our hearts, and her legacy of love, laughter, and dedication will continue to inspire us all. May she rest in eternal peace.
